Football Recap: Strong Effort on D from Mason Mason and Braxton Williams Leads Quincy over Galesburg + How To Watch

Quincy had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 22-point drubbing they dealt Galesburg on Friday. The Blue Devils put the hurt on the Silver Streaks with a sharp 44-22 win. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 29-8.

Sawyer Harshberger was a one-man wrecking crew as he threw for 324 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in one TD on the ground. Quincy also got a significant boost from Mason Mason, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 120 yards.

Quincy's run defense was locked in: Galesburg could only muster 3.4 yards per carry. That's the most yards per carry they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Galesburg's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Antwon Walker, who picked up 104 receiving yards and one score, and Grady Hickey, who rushed for 46 yards and one TD.

Quincy's record is now 5-2. As for Galesburg, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Quincy has already played their next matchup, a 38-17 loss against Sterling on the 17th. As for Galesburg, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 41-6 defeat against Rock Island on the 17th.
