Softball Game Preview: Hug Hawks vs. Wooster Colts

Hug and Wooster are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2022, but likely not for long. The Hawks will venture away from home to square off against the Colts at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Hug comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Hug lost 22-6 to Debbie Smith CTE Academy on Tuesday.

Frida Rodriguez was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Monica Reyes, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Wooster came up short against Sparks on Wednesday, falling 20-3.

Wooster's loss dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Hug, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-11.

Hug got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against Wooster by a conclusive 26-16 score. Do the Hawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Colts turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
