Volleyball Recap: Jackson Center Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Versailles, Jackson Center was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Fairlawn Jets. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

Jackson Center was especially dominant in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 23-25, 25-14, 25-16.

Among those leading the charge was Laynee Shields, who had five digs and two aces. What's more, she racked up 20 assists, the most she's had since back in August. Haidyn Bensman also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

With the victory, Jackson Center broke their three-match losing streak and moved their record to 7-15. As for Fairlawn, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-15.

Looking ahead, after both having extra time off, Jackson Center and Mississinawa Valley will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fairlawn, they will face off against Franklin Monroe at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
