2A District 3 recap Oct. 3, 2012
Trinity Christian Academy moved up to 340 from 400 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 2A District 3. The Eagles climbed the ranks as a result of a 28-7 win over Holy Trinity Episcopal.
Father Lopez took down Duval Charter 81-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Justin Bryant ran for 165 yards in the win.
St. Edward's's dynamic duo of Carson Proctor and Anderson Proctor proved tough for Calvary Christian to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Proctor threw for 63 yards and three touchdowns and Proctor had 36 yards receiving. Brock Miller helped St. Edward's' passing attack out by catching two balls for 22 yards.
Juwan Ross made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Green Wave defeated the Panthers. The freshman forced one fumble and grabbed four sacks.
Father Lopez's Joe Boden and Bryant have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Boden has thrown for 540 yards this season, while Bryant has nine catches for 161 yards. St. John Lutheran's Quandre Woods leads the league in rushing yards with 763.
There should be lots of points scored when the Saints and Jason Dunlap's team face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, St. John Lutheran comes in having scored 130 this season, while the Green Wave have scored 172.
