Preview: Calvary Christian Knights vs. Autauga Academy Generals
The Calvary Christian Knights's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Autauga Academy Generals at 12:30 p.m. on December 27th. Calvary Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 407th in Georgia, while Autauga Academy is ranked 163rd in Alabama).
Even though Brookstone scored an imposing 70 points last Saturday, Calvary Christian still came out on top. Calvary Christian pulled ahead with a 71-70 photo finish over Brookstone. Winning is a bit easier when your three-point shooting is a whole 25% better than the opposition, as Calvary Christian's was.
It was another big night for Tj Benson, who dropped a double-double on 33 points and ten assists. The matchup was his sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Walls, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 21 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Autauga Academy waltzed into their contest Monday with two straight wins but they left with three. They managed a 49-45 victory over Macon-East Montgomery Academy. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Autauga Academy has scored all season.
Calvary Christian's win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Autauga Academy, they pushed their record up to 3-2 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.
