Basketball Recap: Whitharral Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Whitharral, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 57-41 win over the New Deal Lions on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Panthers also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

Whitharral found their leader in sophomore Hudson Dobrovolny, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dobrovolny has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jack Griffin, who posted 11 points and six assists.

Whitharral was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January.

Whitharral has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.5 points per game. As for New Deal, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-8.

Whitharral didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 45-41 loss against Jal on the 19th. New Deal will take on Ralls in a holiday battle at at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
