Volleyball Recap: Maloney Takes Down Trumbull in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, Maloney rose to the challenge on Monday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Trumbull Eagles. The victory was familiar territory for the Spartans, who have now won three contests in a row.

Wesley Colebrook paced Maloney's offense, picking up 36 kills. Colebrook got some help from Galo Cadena and his 49 assists. Colebrook also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Abdiel Cividanes, racking up two apiece.

Maloney's win bumped their record up to 23-2. As for Trumbull, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 21-3 record.

Looking ahead, Maloney will face off against Conard at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Trumbull does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
