Preview: Kingston Cougars vs. Ste. Genevieve Dragons

The Kingston Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Ste. Genevieve Dragons at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Kingston is out to stop a 12-game streak of losses at home dating back to last season.

Kingston scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They slipped by Bourbon 46-45. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Kingston has managed all season.

Meanwhile, Ste. Genevieve came up short against Arcadia Valley on Monday and fell 42-31. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Ste. Genevieve has scored all season.

Despite their loss, Ste. Genevieve saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Chloe Staffen, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals, was perhaps the best of all. The game was Staffen's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Lexi Warren, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Even though they lost, Ste. Genevieve were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Kingston's victory ended a 14-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-5. As for Ste. Genevieve, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
