            Softball Recap: Scottsburg Warriors vs. Eastern Musketeers        
        
		
        
        
            Scottsburg had lost eight straight at home dating back to last season, but  on Monday they dropped their record down to 0-15 to make it nine. They lost  12-2 to the Eastern Musketeers. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Musketeers apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in April of 2024.
 Scottsburg saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Hannah Tatlock, who  went 1-for-2 with one  run and one  double.  Lauren Chapa also deserves some recognition as  she  brought in her first  RBI of the season.
As for Eastern, their record is now 7-9. They not only won  on Monday, but they posted their biggest win  since April 18th (when they won  14-1).
 On Eastern's side,  the team  relied heavily on  Sahara Short, who  went 1-for-3 with one  home run, three  runs,  and four  RBI. Those  four  RBI gave  Short a new career-high.  Alyssa Calloway was another key player,  getting on base  in all three of her plate appearances with one  run and one  RBI.
 Scottsburg and Eastern could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage  in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. The Warriors (ranked 345th) will meet West Washington (ranked 56th)  at 5:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Meanwhile,  Eastern will  square off against  Corydon Central  at 5:30  p.m.  on Wednesday with a big rank  disadvantage  (207 vs. 66).
