Hilltop is a perfect 8-0 against Holgate since May of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Cadets will head out on the road to face off against the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Hilltop is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Northview just ended the team's 12-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 3-2.

Halle Jones made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. Another player making a difference was Sophia Crossgrove, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Meanwhile, Holgate fell victim to Hicksville and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Aces, falling 20-0. The Tigers have struggled against the Aces recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Hilltop's loss dropped their record down to 15-3. As for Holgate, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.

Everything went Hilltop's way against Holgate in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, as Hilltop made off with an 8-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cadets since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
