Soccer Game Preview: Central vs. South Fork

The Central Cobras will head out to square off against the South Fork Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.7 goals per game this season.

Central is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy just ended the team's ten-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 3-2. While losing is never fun, the Cobras can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 48th, while the Tigers are ranked fourth).

Tiago Mejia and Reinaldo Rocha scored both of Central's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 16 goals.

Meanwhile, South Fork entered their tilt with Pahokee on Tuesday with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. Their defense stepped up to hand the Blue Devils a 3-0 shutout. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by three goals or more this season.

South Fork is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3-1 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 42 goals over those 13 games. As for Central, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-2.
