Baseball Recap: Montour Takes a Loss

Montour scored first but ultimately less than Connellsville in their contest on Monday. They fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 5-3. The Spartans just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Montour got a good showing from Gavin Foley, who tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Foley has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Andrew Porto made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. Zachary Ciamacco was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases.

Montour's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Connellsville, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1.

While Montour had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
