Baseball Recap: Arthur-Okaw Christian Starts Season with Victory Against Sullivan

Arthur-Okaw Christian gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Sullivan Redskins 12-11. For the Conquering Riders, this counts as revenge for the 8-6 victory the Redskins walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Justin Hostetler made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. What's more, he gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Reagan Rademacher, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was James Lee, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Arthur-Okaw Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sullivan only posted a batting average of .276.

Coming up, Arthur-Okaw Christian will host St. Thomas More at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sullivan, they will challenge Charleston at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
