Basketball Recap: Eaton Skates Past Valley with Ease

Eaton lost to Valley back in February of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Eaton Reds took their game with ease, bagging a 61-28 victory over the Valley Vikings. The Reds have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 24 points or more this season.

Eaton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cooper Wiedeman, who posted eight points along with ten rebounds and three steals. Wiedeman has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last three times he's played. Austin Crider was another key player, putting up 15 points and five boards.

Eaton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in three consecutive contests.

Eaton's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-8. As for Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.

Eaton will welcome Fort Morgan at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Eaton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.1 points per game this season. As for Valley, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 68-52 victory against Eagle Ridge Academy on the 1st.
