Volleyball Recap: Ola Beats Upson-Lee for Their Fifth Straight Victory

Ola entered their tilt with Upson-Lee on Thursday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Knights. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 last Thursday.

Ola had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 24-26, 25-14, 15-13.

Ola found their leader in sophomore Lily Powell, who had 12 digs and two aces.

Ola was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in 13 consecutive contests.

Ola's victory bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Upson-Lee, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.

Ola and Upson-Lee will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Mustangs are set to take on their familiar foe McDonough at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Upson-Lee will square off against rival West Laurens at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
