Baseball Recap: Declo Takes a Loss

Declo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Malad Dragons. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Hornets' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Declo saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keston Koyle, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base. Those hits were Koyle's first of the season.

Declo's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Malad, they pushed their record up to 4-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, Declo will host Glenns Ferry at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hornets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pilots have averaged an impressive 9.4 runs per game this season. As for Malad, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-0 loss against Clearfield on the 3rd.
