Basketball Recap: Northside Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Northside, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They managed a 62-56 victory over the Thomas County Central Yellow Jackets on Friday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 64-61 back in January.

Thomas County Central lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Colby Mullinax, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Mullinax a new career-high in blocks (three). Quincy Anderson was another key player, putting up 11 points and three steals.

Northside pushed their record up to 13-11 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points over those games. As for Thomas County Central, their loss dropped their record down to 14-10.

Looking ahead, Northside will be playing in front of their home fans against Coffee at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Northside is facing Coffee at the right time seeing as Coffee is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Thomas County Central, they will challenge Veterans at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Thomas County Central knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Veterans likes a good challenge.
