Softball Recap: Lennox Academy Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Lennox Academy entered their tilt with Animo Venice on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Pirates with a sharp 12-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won four matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Valeria Lopez made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single earned run, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Angely Robledo, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Emily Estrada, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Lennox Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Lennox Academy's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Animo Venice, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-6.

Looking ahead, Lennox Academy will venture away from home to take on Environmental Charter at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Animo Venice, they will welcome Animo South Los Angeles at 3:00 p.m. on Monday.
