Baseball Game Preview: Oneida Indians vs. Pickett County Bobcats

For the second straight game, Oneida will face off against Pickett County. The Indians will take on the Bobcats at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Oneida is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Things were looking good for Oneida after they put the first run on the board on Thursday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 19-12 to Pickett County.

For Pickett County's part, Brody Pryor made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over 6.1 innings while giving up four earned (and five unearned) runs off six hits. Pryor was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his six plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, Pickett County let Jaxon Smith and Jayden Daniels run wild. Smith got on base in all six of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs, while Daniels got on base in five of his six plate appearances with five stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. Smith has become a key player for Pickett County: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 0-9 otherwise. Colson West was another key player, going 2-for-5 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Oneida's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Pickett County, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-10.
