 Salesian College Preparatory is 1-8-1 against Pinole Valley since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Monday. The Salesian College Preparatory Pride will look to defend their home field  against the Pinole Valley Spartans at 4:00  p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
 Salesian College Preparatory is headed into the  contest fresh off scoring the most  runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Saint Mary's on Thursday as Salesian College Preparatory made off with  a  19-9 win. The  victory was nothing new for Salesian College Preparatory as they're now sitting on five straight.
  DeAmor Coleman made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she  pitched five innings while giving up just one earned  (and seven unearned) runs off   eight  hits. Coleman has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  pitched less than five  innings in 11 consecutive pitching appearances. Coleman was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 4-for-4 with four  runs, two  stolen bases,  and five  RBI.
 In other batting news, Salesian College Preparatory got a  massive  performance out of  Dakota Harrell, who  scored three  runs while  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances.  Lina Gaskin was another key contributor,  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances with three  runs and a  triple.
 Meanwhile, Pinole Valley entered their tilt with El Cerrito with two consecutive wins  but they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victor by  a  10-4 margin over the Gauchos on Friday.
  Jalyssa Elliott spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered  just two earned  (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up six Ks. Those six  strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
 At the plate,  Jennifer Ramirez and  Julissa Sanchez did most of the damage at the plate:  Ramirez  scored two  runs while going 2-for-3, while  Sanchez  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of  Ayla Serrano, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 3-for-4.
 Salesian College Preparatory's win was  their fifth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 11-2-1. As for Pinole Valley, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won five of their last six matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 6-3-1 record  this season.
 The pitchers for both teams better look sharp  on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Salesian College Preparatory has been swiping bases left and right this season,  having  averaged 3.1  stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Pinole Valley struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 5.8. The only question left is which team can snag more.
