Softball Recap: Blake Bears vs. Park Center Pirates
Blake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the Park Center Pirates, falling 20-8.
Rain Fricke was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Livvy Vandersall also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Blake's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Park Center, they pushed their record up to 4-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.
Looking ahead, Blake will look to defend their home field on Friday against Minnehaha Academy at 4:30 p.m. The Red Hawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed eight runs per game on average), something the Bears will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Park Center, they will head out to take on St. Paul Central at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
