Baseball Recap: Decatur Wins Going Away Against Federal Way

Decatur won the last time they faced Federal Way and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Golden Gators blew past the Eagles 13-3. The Golden Gators might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matches by six runs or more this season.

Tyler Buol made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Decatur got a massive performance out of Eric Havili, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most runs Havili has posted since back in April. Spencer Holloway was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Decatur always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Federal Way only posted an OBP of .423.

Decatur's record now sits at 20-3-1. As for Federal Way, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-10 record this season.
