Softball Recap: Monday's Win Is Washington's 11th in Last 14 Outings

Washington's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They walked away with an 8-3 win over the Camden County Bruins. The Pam Pack have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bruins, too.

Emma Orr made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Honor Edwards was incredible, going 1-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Addison Miller was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two runs and one RBI.

Washington kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Washington is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Camden County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-7.

Coming up, Washington will be playing at home against Ayden - Grifton at 6:00 p.m. on the 29th. As for Camden County, they will head out on the road to challenge Manteo at 5:00 p.m. on the 29th. The Redskins' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Bruins' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
