Woodbridge extended their winning streak to nine on Monday, bumping them up to 17-10. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 9-8 W against the Capistrano Valley Christian Eagles. For the Warriors, this counts as revenge for the 6-1 win the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2025.
Woodbridge got a great performance from Tyler Martin as he tossed 4.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. The dominant performance also gave Martin a new career-high in strikeouts (five).
On the hitting side, Woodbridge let JJ Metcalf and Vincent DeMarco run wild. Metcalf went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two runs, while DeMarco went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Vaughn Tase, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Woodbridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in seven consecutive matchups.
As for Capistrano Valley Christian, they now have a losing record of 13-14. Their defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
On Capistrano Valley Christian's side, Dominic French was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. The Eagles are 3-1 when French posts three or more hits, but 10-13 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jack Basso, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run.
