Recap: Marlboro Academy Dragons vs. Scotland Christian Academy Saints
The Marlboro Academy Dragons scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They took down Scotland Christian Academy 78-64. Given Marlboro Academy's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 116th in South Carolina, while Scotland Christian Academy is ranked 301st in North Carolina), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Scotland Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Tavon Farmer, who scored 13 points. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeffrey St.Onge, who scored 11 points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Marlboro Academy and bumps their season record up to 5-3. As for Scotland Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 5-3.
After both having extra time off, Marlboro Academy and Florence Christian will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 8:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Scotland Christian Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Matthews Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
