Volleyball Recap: Point Loma Takes a Loss

Point Loma was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Fallbrook Warriors, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Pointers of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Point Loma was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-22, 25-15.

Jason Fuentes was the offensive standout of the match as he had seven digs and two aces. That's the most digs he has posted over his last four contests.

Point Loma's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Fallbrook, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Point Loma will face off against Santa Fe Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Fallbrook, they will take on School for Entrepreneurship & Technology at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
