Baseball Recap: Galena Extends Road Winning Streak to Eight

Galena entered their tilt with Riverton on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 7-2 win over the Rams. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-0 on Monday.

Galena pushed their record up to 10-5 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.1 runs over those games. As for Riverton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9-1 record this season.

Galena will head out to face off against Frontenac on Thursday. The Raiders' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Riverton, they will host New Heights Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
