Basketball Game Preview: Dixie Flyers vs. Pine View Panthers

Dixie has won 12 straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Pine View has won 12 straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Flyers will host the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Dixie is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Kanab, who was ranked seventh at the time (Dixie was ranked fifth). The Flyers secured a 53-47 W over the Cowboys on Friday.

Meanwhile, Pine View hadn't done well against Snow Canyon recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Panthers came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 54-43. The score was all tied up 26-26 at the break, but the Panthers were the better team in the second half.

Dixie better keep an eye on Ella Fiefia. She was instrumental in Pine View's win, dropping a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Those 19 points gave Fiefia a new career-high. Reese Gustin was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.

Pine View smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in seven consecutive games.

Dixie's win bumped their record up to 17-0. As for Pine View, their victory bumped their record up to 13-5.
