Three Rivers had won five straight on the road, but on Thursday they bumped up to 23-3 to make it six. Everything went their way against La Pryor as they made off with a 12-0 victory. Considering Three Rivers has won 16 games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Kylee Garcia made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times she's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sydney Ruiz, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last 18 games she's played. Morgan Niembro was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Three Rivers was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .375 or higher in seven consecutive matchups.
As for La Pryor, their loss dropped their record down to 11-10. They haven't had much luck with Three Rivers recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
On La Pryor's side, J Samarripa spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and seven unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks.
Three Rivers wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 8-5 defeat against Charlotte on the 7th. As for La Pryor, they have also already played their next game, an 18-0 loss against Falls City on the 7th.
