 Fort Myers and Island Coast squared off in some playoff action  on Thursday, but Fort Myers had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Island Coast Gators by a score of  8-7. Fort Myers' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.
  Madrid Tucker and  Ashton Mora stepped up to the plate in a big way.  Tucker  scored three  runs and  stole two bases while going 3-for-4, while  Mora  scored a  run while going 3-for-4.
 Even though they lost, Fort Myers  hit smart and  finished the game with only one  strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Island Coast struck out eight times.
 On Island Coast's side,  the team  relied heavily on  Jordi Guerrero, who  scored three  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was  Mason Blackburn, who  scored a  run and  stole two bases while going 2-for-4.
 Fort Myers now  has a losing record at 13-14. As for Island Coast, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won eight of their last nine matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 19-9 record  this season.
 As of now, neither Fort Myers nor Island Coast have any future games scheduled.
