Football Recap: Westran Falls to Van-Far in First Game of Season

Westran unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Van-Far Indians on Friday, falling 38-14. The game was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly the Hornets struggled afterwards.

Gage Adler threw for 95 yards on 12 of 22 attempts. Tiernan Mooneyham was his top target, picking up 53 receiving yards. On the ground, Hayden Chapman rushed for 44 yards.

Kasen Christian was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 63 yards and one TD on only eight carries. Those 63 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Westran will face off against South Shelby at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Van-Far, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Russellville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
