It was a good run, but First Baptist Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Mulberry Grove Aces by a score of 2-1. If First Baptist Academy was looking for revenge after losing 2-1 to Mulberry Grove when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

First Baptist Academy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-18, 25-17.

Mulberry Grove's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lola Johnson, who had seven digs and two aces. Those seven digs gave Johnson a new career-high.

First Baptist Academy now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Mulberry Grove, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Coming up, First Baptist Academy will face off against Calvary Baptist Christian Academy at 2:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Mulberry Grove, they will challenge Dieterich at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
