Baseball Recap: Normangee Panthers vs. Douglass Indians

With a playoff win on the line, Normangee rose to the challenge on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Douglass Indians 11-10. Considering the Panthers' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Wyatt Kimich made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. He is becoming a predictor of Normangee's success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 4-2 (and 3-9 when he doesn't). Kimich was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
