Volleyball Recap: Davis Comes Up Short on the Road Against Green Canyon

Davis had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They lost 3-0 to the Green Canyon Wolves. The Darts were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolves apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2020.

While Davis was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Green Canyon's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-5, 25-18, 25-19.

Zaylee Mabey paced Davis' offense, picking up three kills. Mabey got some help from Marli Wall and her five assists. Alex Harris controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Leading Green Canyon to victory were Charly Monson and Jaylee Blotter. Monson had ten digs and five aces, while Blotter had seven digs and two aces. What's more, Blotter posted four assists, the most she's had since back in October of 2024.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Davis will take on Copper Hills at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Green Canyon, they will venture away from home to take on Woods Cross at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
