Basketball Recap: Grosse Pointe South Takes a Loss

Grosse Pointe South lost against Dakota back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Grosse Pointe South Blue Devils lost to the Dakota Cougars on the road by a 55-41 margin.

Leading Dakota to victory were Meadow Cameron and Brooklyn Garavaglia. Cameron went 6 for 9 on her way to 19 points in addition to eight rebounds and three blocks, while Garavaglia went 5 of 11 en route to 13 points and five assists. Cameron is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Allie Ruggirello was another key player, putting up seven points and five boards.

Grosse Pointe South dropped their record down to 4-8 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Dakota, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-8.

When Grosse Pointe South and Dakota next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Grosse Pointe South will try to stop Utica Eisenhower's nine-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Dakota will challenge Utica Ford and their ten-game winning streak at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
