Football Recap: Fairfield's Undefeated Season over After 12 Games + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Fairfield can now relate to. They took a 36-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Yoakum Bulldogs on Friday. The matchup marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Fairfield lost, don't look at Kohl Collins. Despite the final result, he threw for 312 yards and four TDs, and also rushed for 55 yards. Collins has been hot recently, having posted four or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Tylan Davis, who picked up 169 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Yoakum got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Germarquis Robinson out in front who rushed for 305 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 12.7 yards per carry. X'Zavier Barnett was another key player, rushing for 117 yards and three TDs on only 14 carries.

Having lost for the first time this season, Fairfield fell to 11-1. As for Yoakum, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

Fairfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Yoakum, they will square off against Hardin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Hornets' defense has only allowed 11.8 points per game this season, so the Bulldogs' offense will have their work cut out for them.
