Softball Recap: Bishop Kelly Takes Down Ranked Middleton

Bishop Kelly faced Middleton in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Knights came out on top against the Vikings by a score of 6-1. This was a revenge game for the Knights: when they faced off against the Vikings last Wednesday, they had to take a 4-3 loss.

Lauren Fettic spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Gracie Cammann was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Julia Baerlocher, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Bishop Kelly's record is now 11-3. As for Middleton, they moved to 14-3 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Bishop Kelly is set to face off against their familiar foe Nampa at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Middleton will take on rival Emmett at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
