Volleyball Recap: Covina Takes a Loss

Covina was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Wilson Wildcats. The Colts were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Covina actually scored more points across those five sets (114-107), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 16-25, 21-25, 27-25, 27-25, 16-14.

Covina's defeat dropped their record down to 18-6. As for Wilson, the victory snapped their losing streak at seven matches and leaves them with a 11-12 record.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Covina is set to square off against their familiar foe Rowland at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Wilson will take on rival Charter Oak at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
