Basketball Game Preview: Nemaha Central Thunder vs. Silver Lake Eagles

The Nemaha Central Thunder will square off against the Silver Lake Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Nemaha Central is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Hiawatha just ended the team's 13-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 47-46 to the Red Hawks. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Thunder came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Red Hawks are ranked 227th).

Meanwhile, Silver Lake had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They walked away with a 48-36 win over the Wildcats.

Nemaha Central's loss ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-1. As for Silver Lake, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

Nemaha Central didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Silver Lake in their previous meeting back in January of 2018, but they still walked away with a 70-66 victory. Will Nemaha Central repeat their success, or does Silver Lake have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
