Basketball Recap: Rock Hill Comes Up Short

Rock Hill lost against Dawson-Bryant last Monday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Rock Hill Redmen were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 48-47 to the Dawson-Bryant Hornets.

Several Redmen players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kelan Davidson, who posted seven points in addition to 11 boards and five assists. Davidson is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last 12 games he's played. Yaden Bailey was another key player, putting up 12 points and seven boards.

Rock Hill has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.7 points per game. As for Dawson-Bryant, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-11.

Rock Hill and Dawson-Bryant could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. Rock Hill (ranked 376th) will meet Greenup County (ranked 186th) at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Dawson-Bryant will face off against Ironton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday down 341 places (443 vs. 102).
