Preview: Dorchester Longhorns vs. Lewiston Tigers
The Dorchester Longhorns will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Lewiston Tigers on Thursday. Hopefully Dorchester is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lewiston in Nebraska (Dorchester is ranked 132nd, while Lewiston is ranked 268th).
Dorchester has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 40 points or more this season. They took their game on the road on Thursday with ease, bagging a 67-22 victory over Heartland Lutheran. With Dorchester ahead 34-10 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Lewiston, who are still winless after their seventh game. They were beaten by Parkview Christian 42-15 last Monday. Lewiston was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-4.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Lewiston struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Parkview Christian racked up nine assists.
Dorchester's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-3. As for Lewiston, they bumped their record down to 0-7 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Dorchester couldn't quite finish off Lewiston when the teams last played back in December of 2022 and fell 41-38. Can Dorchester avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
