Baseball Recap: Jim Ned Comes Up Short

Jim Ned entered their contest against Wall on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Indians fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 2-1. The matchup marked the Indians' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Tucker Deal spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jim Ned saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gavin Brooks, who went 2-for-4 with one run.

Jim Ned's defeat dropped their record down to 23-2. As for Wall, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 19 of their last 20 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-9 record this season.
