Baseball Recap: Pelham Gets the Win

Pelham won the last time they faced Oyster River and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Pythons narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Bobcats 5-4.

The team relied heavily on Stephen Pare, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Carvello, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Pelham's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Oyster River, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-5.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Pelham will face off against rival Kingswood at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Oyster River is set to square off against their familiar foe Stark at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bobcats 2.9, the Generals 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
