Football Game Preview: Pine Bush Bushmen vs. Newburgh Free Academy Goldbacks + How To Watch

Pine Bush hasn't had much luck against Newburgh Free Academy recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Bushmen will challenge the Goldbacks at 6:00 p.m. Pine Bush has given up an average of 26.6 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Pine Bush is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Monroe-Woodbury on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Bushmen took a blow against the Crusaders, falling 38-6. While losing is never fun, the Bushmen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 286th, while the Crusaders are ranked 40th).

Meanwhile, Newburgh Free Academy entered their tilt with Proctor on Saturday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Raiders 33-6. The Goldbacks pushed the score to 26-6 by the end of the third, a deficit the Raiders had little chance of recovering from.

Newburgh Free Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Pine Bush, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Pine Bush and Newburgh Free Academy were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, but Pine Bush came up empty-handed after a 27-26 defeat. Can the Bushmen avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
