Recap: Liberty Chargers vs. Poinciana Eagles

The Liberty Chargers suffered their biggest loss since January 4th on Monday. They were beaten by Poinciana 63-35. While losing is never fun, Liberty can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 584th, while Poinciana is ranked 128th).

Several Chargers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lamar Lee, who scored 12 points along with three steals. Lee is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Genola Thermozier, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.

Liberty has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Poinciana, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-4.

Liberty will face off against Tohopekaliga at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Poinciana, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Osceola at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Luke Mccrimon and Jordan Isaac.
