The Mountain View Thunder won the last time they faced the Battle Ground Tigers, and things went their way on Monday too. Mountain View enjoyed a cozy 53-39 win over Battle Ground. Given Mountain View's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 60th, while Battle Ground is ranked 274th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

When it comes to explaining why Battle Ground lost, one person who can't be blamed is Skylar Fridriksson. Despite the final result, she scored 12 points along with six rebounds. Fridriksson continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Haily Navarro, who scored six points.

Even though they lost, Battle Ground were working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Mountain View's victory bumped their record up to 13-3. As for Battle Ground, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.

Mountain View will be playing at home against Prairie at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Battle Ground won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Kelso at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd.
