Basketball Game Preview: Calhoun Academy Cavaliers vs. Williamsburg Academy Stallions

The Calhoun Academy Cavaliers will venture away from home to challenge the Williamsburg Academy Stallions at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Calhoun Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.4 points per game this season.

Calhoun Academy will head into Monday's game hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 20) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Laurence Manning Academy 40-37. The 40-point effort marked the Cavaliers' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Calhoun Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nick Lindsay, who went 5 of 11 en route to 15 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Chase Strickland, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 11 points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, Williamsburg Academy played a tough contest on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by East Clarendon and fell 63-31. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Stallions have suffered since January 19th.

Williamsburg Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Calhoun Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.
