Basketball Game Preview: Tennessee Vikings vs. Northview Academy Cougars

The Tennessee Vikings will head out to face off against the Northview Academy Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Last Wednesday, Tennessee lost to David Crockett on the road by a 55-38 margin. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while the Pioneers are ranked 17th).

Meanwhile, Northview Academy had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Cocke County 53-50. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cougars have posted since November 18, 2023.

Tennessee's defeat dropped their record down to 13-18. As for Northview Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 30-4 record this season.

Tennessee took a serious blow against Northview Academy in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, falling 89-46. Can Tennessee avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
