Baseball Recap: Lely Comes Up Short

The Lely Trojans came up short against the Gulliver Prep Raiders on Friday, falling 20-3. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Luis Hilaire was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Cesse De Jesus also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Lely's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Gulliver Prep, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Lely will square off against Gulf Coast at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Gulliver Prep, they will take on Doral Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Raiders 3, the Firebirds 0.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
