Soccer Game Preview: Pacifica vs. Santa Barbara

The Pacifica Tritons will take on the Santa Barbara Dons at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Pacifica is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering San Marcos just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Tuesday. The two teams finished up on equal footing with a 0-0 draw. The result kept the Tritons happy, as they haven't lost a game since December 13, 2024.

Meanwhile, Santa Barbara was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Oxnard. The match was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but the Dons couldn't quite close it out.

Santa Barbara's loss dropped their record down to 5-14-1. With that draw, Pacifica's record moves to 12-1-4.

Pacifica came out on top in a nail-biter against Santa Barbara in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. Does Pacifica have another victory up their sleeve, or will Santa Barbara turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
